Silhouette Product Giveaway (and My Creative Classroom winners)

Today's giveaway is from the well known Silhouette company! You've seen half of blogland use and rave about the Silhouette, a personal digital cutter!

However, if you are like me, you haven't won one and haven't been able to buy one. So the next option is to check out the products that DON'T REQUIRE a
Silhouette in order to use them.

There are quite a few products you can use without the Silhouette machine which are included in today's giveaway. With good enough scissor skills, you can create beautiful clothing, temporary tatoos and magnets. (I'm not sure my scissors skills are good enough to make a shirt like that!)

So here is the good news!

The Giveaway:
Silhouette is Giving a $50 Bundle Package away for FREE!
And it includes...
2 Heat Transfer Rolls {Yellow & White Smooth}
1 Tattoo Pack
1 Magnet Sheet

You do not need a Silhouette machine to use these products...all you need are your handy scissors!

**Silhouette is also offering 25% off on all their accessories with the code: SOMEDAY
{Runs through November 13th at midnight!}

Saving some SERIOUS holiday gift-giving cash!

*You must live in the United States and can only win a package once.*

12 Days of Creative Christmas

.
Before I get started with Thanksgiving ideas, I wanted to give you the heads-up on a fun event called
"12 Days of Creative Christmas"
at Deck The Halls of Home.

Brenda is oh so talented! I'm loving what I 've seen already on her blog (and in her etsy shop.)

Don't you love this place settings? I had to look closely at the giant swiss rolls to tell that they aren't edible!!! (You'll have to head over to see what they are made of.) Putting the silverware in a little stocking. How fun!

Eye Candy! Love the tablecloth and Christmas mice decor. The tablecloth says "Tis the season...to eat chocolate...fa la la la la." My kind of fabric!!!!

I have a feeling I may be a little jealous after I the see 12 Days of Creative Christmas at her home! Look at that table! Look at all the beautiful things going on. I'm excited!

for the next 12 days to get a jump start on your Christmas ideas!

Painting My Living Room

This week's Crafting With The Stars theme was PAINT!!! Go check out the drool-worthy projects and break out the paint! You can vote for your 3 favorite projects!
Go to Sew Dang Cute to vote today!

And since the theme is paint, I decide I'll post a little paint project I finally completed a couple of weeks ago at my house.
When we bought this house, all four wall and the ceiling in two rooms were this dark green. Combined with the dark wood trim and dark floors, it was a cave. One of the first thing when we did when we moved in was paint the ceiling white and the walls a very, very ,very light shade of brown. It looks white. I left this wall as an accent wall to paint "in a couple of months." A couple of months turned in a year and a half. I finally painted it!!!!

I usually use tape when painting walls and around trim. but I got a Purdy paintbrush in the mail to try out. People have told me many times before that you don't need to use tape if you have a high-quality brush. I decided to try it out this time. I put my Purdy to the test!

I used the free Glidden paint that I received last year. There was a promotion about a year ago and I volunteered for some paint:) I choose "Avacado."
I obviously painted a primer over the dark green. And then I started with the Avacado. Notice NO TAPE!!!!! I have to say I was sceptical that I could paint striaght lines on corners, wall and around the trim without getting paint on the other walls and trim. I am here to say that a good, high-quality brush makes all the difference! I am sold!!! I promise I will never buy a cheap brush again for a project I care about! It saved me a lot of time not having to tape!

This is what it looks like when painted. I can't believe how much warmer and lighter the room feels just because of one wall. This is the same amount of lighting as in the first picture, but it looks totally different. I just need to decorate the mantle. Someday, we plan to update the tile to something modern, but for now I just painted the wall to somewhat look nice with the tile!

Happy Halloween and Brain Cupcakes!

Happy Halloween!
The first set of costumes were the Mickey and Minnie clothes they wore when we visited Disneyland. They loved it. My huband wore a Mickey wizard hat.
.
The day before we celebrated Halloween, I ran to D.I. (our local thrift store) to finish my husband's costume. They had a ton of cheap costumes and I couldn't help but get some fun dress-ups (for $2-$3 a piece). The kids decided they wanted to switch to Spiderman and a Skeleton. I just grabbed some of my mom's clothes from the 70's to wear and pretend to be my MOM. That's my costume every year. Boring, I know!

I hope you all had a great Halloween! Expect to see some great Thanksgiving Crafts in the coming weeks! But before we abondon Halloween for a year, there's one last project I know your kids would love!!!!

BRAINS!!!! These look gross on cupcakes! (They look gross anywhere!) But, they are just so great for Halloween! See this at The Domestic Sugar Bake Shop.
