Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration

I've never (and probably will never) create one of those serene, picturesque nurseries for my kiddos that are pinned all over Pinterest. With my first, he had his own room, but we didn't have the budget for much besides some plastic drawers (as a dresser) and a hand me down shelf. We're in a bigger  apartment now, and before the twins came along, one room was my craft/storage room. I wasn't quite ready to give it up as a craft room, but I did downsize the craft part of it so that we could fit baby stuff in there too. I did a few DIY things for Emmett's room, but it still didn't turn out like anything on Pinterest. Now that number three is coming along, she'll be in our room in a bassinette for a while, then the two boys will share a room and she'll move into the baby part of the craft room. I haven't officially started on any décor that will go in her room once we make the switch, but I have been looking for ideas. So here are a few of my favorites...

I love these Ruffle Lanterns from Simply Abby. They would be so cute hanging in the corner near the bookshelf that I'm planning to use as a dresser.

I'm also drooling over this adorable rag rug that was posted over at Craftaholics Anonymous. So many color and size options available!

Finding Silver Linings has a great tutorial for making your own crib canopy. I love that it's so simple and cheap to make.

I think the idea of having a pennant banner hanging up in the room is so cute! Petite Lemon has an easy way to make one.

I'm absolutely in love with the idea of turning an ordinary bookshelf into some extra closet space. The closet in the baby's room is super small, and we need all the storage space we can get. (Not sure on the original source, but I found this featured on Darling Stuff and Project Nursery)

I don't have room for much else in the room. It's pretty small and I don't want to overwhelm the space, though there are so many things I would absolutely love to do. What are your favorite ideas for nurseries?

My husband would LOVE to have a great big world map, like this one from Young and Crafty Sisters, up in our house. I love that it's not a typical, boring framed map!

Whatever Goes Wednesday #256

Hey Someday Crafters! I'm sorry that Whatever Goes Wednesday is a day late. I ended up in the ER last night with my hubby who thought he had a broken nose. So, needless to say, blogging didn't get done. We don't know definitively if it's broken or not, we just have orders to ice it and watch for a few things.

Welcome to this crazy day of linky love and blog exploration! I love to see what is new out there in blog land. Get started clicking away to view everyone's creations!

Please stick around and click on at few a links before leaving. Don't be a link-and-run blogger!

SUGAR & SPICE SERIES
A couple months ago, I wrote about how we were expecting again! We're welcoming our first little girl on the 22nd (scheduled C-section after the last pregnancy required an emergency C-section) and I'm feeling a little lost in the world of baby girls. I'm hosting a Sugar & Spice series while I take a little break to recover and learn how to be a mommy to 3 littles. I'm looking for guest bloggers from Jan 21st - Feb 6th who have a new project for a baby girl (or something gender neutral) that you'd like to share with our readers. If you're interested, you can claim your spot by filling out this google spreadsheet. I'd love for you to join the fun!

It's that time of year - when people are looking for ways to keep our homes cleaner and more organized. A Grande Life shared some great ideas for purging and organizing.

GIVEAWAY DIRECTORY
Don't forget to check out the Giveaway Directory tomorrow! It amazes me how few people enter giveaways. This is your chance at free stuff! FYI, this link is only open for two days. If you are going to do a giveaway and want to feature it here, make sure you link it up sometime on Thursday or Friday.

CATEGORICALLY CRAFTING

Winter is definitely here to stay, and it may be a long one (at least in our neck of the woods). Come party at the Winter Categorically Crafting Party and get some fun seasonal ideas!

Valentine's Day is a exactly a month away, so I thought a Valentine's Day Categorically Crafting Party would be in order. I'm already seeing lots of ideas floating around in blogland, so come join the party!

ON TO THE PARTY!
You know what to do. Enter your project (up to 4 links), tip, idea, recipe, whatever. Visit others. Leave comments. PLEASE NO ETSY SHOPS! Come back again in the next few days as more projects are added throughout the week. Let the fun begin! Because blogging is not my full-time job, I will not be able to visit every link. I apologize for that because I know you all work so hard and take the time to link up here and I appreciate it! Also, we'll be highlighting our favorites throughout the week, so be sure to check back periodically! :)
