Fixing Cracked Plaster Walls
BEFORE
If you live in an old house (like I do) that has cracked plaster, here is the solution for you. Joint compound watered down like paint! Junk Mammas says it works. Go to their post to learn more. (I hope it does so I don't have to sheetrock over all the upstairs bedroom walls and ceilings!!!!)
AFTER!!!!

Ladder Pot Rack
Use an old ladder for a pot rack in a small kitchen or just because you want to decorate. Look at how cute that is!!! A Beach Cottage has more pictures and details.Chair Shelf
Art Apron from Dishtowel
With school starting, doesn't every little kid/pre-schooler need an art apron for their tools. This is made from a dish towel!!! Obsessively Stitching has the tutorial.Heritage Blocks
My grandparents and father passed away before my kids were born. What a fun way for my kids to "meet" them through heritage blocks. Also, my husband's family lives across the country and we rarely get to see them. I am going to make some blocks with cousins, aunts, uncles, and living grandparents on them. Blocks with which to play!!! Genius! Heritage Unwrapped has more on this project!Flower Skirt
Add a little pizzazz to a plain skirt by adding lots and lots of fun flowers! Or spice up any article of clothing by justing adding 1 to 3 flowers!!! Learn how at Cut Out and Keep.Wednesday, August 19, 2009
More Decorative Balls
You know you want to make sophisticated decorative balls to fancy up your house. Now you can! V and Co. gives the instructions for making "Pottery Barn looking decorative balls." Yummy!!!

Table Shelves
Don't you wish you had a room in your house where you could make these fun shelves only in a color you like? I do! Start buying up abused tables at garage sales and thrift stores, cut them in half, hang them on the wall and paint!!! That's all you have to do for this wall of table shelves someday!!! Recyclart has more on it!Folding Towels Creatively
If you are into entertaining (AKA-people staying at your home overnight), staycations, or just making your bathroom decor fun and unique, try making your towels into the fancy creations you might see in a luxury hotel.
Head over to No Fuss Fabulous to see how these towel beauties are made! Do you know how to fold towels creatively? Post a link and I will attach it to this post!

Repurposing Clothes
I love repurposing projects. I have posted quite a few of them on this blog. Make It and Love It has two brilliant, unique repurposing projects lately.
The first is made when two long sleeve shirts are made into a skirt and leggings for a girl.

The second is with an old men's shirt is turned into a dress with a big flower. Try some repurposing or restyling today!!!

Liquid Starch Decor
Use liquid starch to apply fabric to furniture (like this treaure chest)
and to walls (like this). Liquid starch acts similar to decopauge, but it removes from surfaces easily without ruining the applied surface or the fabric!!! Recycle! Head over Sew Can Do for more pictures and info.Wire Hanger Book Rack
Turn an unwanted wire hanger into a book rack or display holder for pictures, artwork, a mirror or something else. Cute and Cheap! Superziper (a spanish blog?) has the pictures. You may not be able to read this, but hopefully from the pictures, you can create this idea!
Chalkboard Contact Paper
Get out of town!!! Have you heard of CHALKBOARD CONTACT PAPER? Me neither, until today! Happy Nester brought this genius idea to my attention. Think of the possibilities that exist with contact paper that acts like a chalkboard.
No mess! Comes off of surfaces easily! Inexpensive! Cabinets, walls, jars, desks, containers, beds, etc. Go to this post to learn more and see where you can buy some!!!

Forty-Two Roads
I always like finding a blog that hasn't been "discovered" yet. I think I found one this last week. Forty-two Roads has many interesting projects. I haven't looked at every post, but some of her sewing posts are great. Check out the following three:
Extending dresses
She also has some restyles and costumes.

One of my favorite things is her etsy shop item, Cardboard kitchen pattern. I don't normally endorse things, but this is too cool.
