Mother's Day Soap Dispenser + A Giveaway!

This soap dispenser is such a quick and easy project! You've got plenty of time to make it for Mother's Day.
Cricket Vinyl Supplies was kind enough to send me some vinyl for this (and other upcoming) projects! Here's what they sent...

I'm really impressed with the vinyl from Cricket Vinyl Supplies, especially with the transfer tape. Other transfer tape (from other companies) that I've used has the grid lines on the paper backing, but not on the sticky paper. Cricket Vinyl Supplies has transfer tape with grid lines on the sticky paper which makes transferring projects  and lining them up SOOOOOO much easier, in my opinion. The vinyl is also really easy to weed and work with, which is very important when crafting.

To make this soap dispenser, you'll need...

- White Glossy Vinyl (Orcal 751 - the super sticky stuff)
-Oil/Vinegar Dispenser (I purchased mine from Wal-Mart for about $3)

I created my text in the Silhouette Studio.

I used a font called CF Jack Story (don't ask me where I downloaded it from). To fit on my dispenser, I sized it to about 4.5" x 1.7". I changed the line spacing also to make the letters closer together.

After creating it, I used my Silhouette to cut the vinyl and used the transfer tape to transfer the vinyl to the glass dispenser. Make sure to clean the glass dispenser well so that there isn't any dirt under the vinyl to keep it from sticking.

And here she is in her rightful place on the counter. I actually made two of these, one for my mom and one for me. I liked the idea so much as I was making one of her, that I decided I wanted one too!

And because I think we need more honesty in the blogging world, this is what my counter ACTUALLY looked like as I was taking pictures. Yup. Just keepin' in real. :)

Cricket Vinyl Supplies, The Scrap Shoppe, and Someday Crafts want you to get in on the vinyl crafting action, so they're giving away a Cricut Expression Machine to one lucky person! I know I have (and advertise for) another famous craft cutter machine, but I have also done a lot of work with the Cricut machines. In fact, they were the first machine that I used, back in my days of working at Michaels. They're very easy to use and understand they have a LOT of crafting capabilities!

  36. The first thing I would create is wording("The loves of my life") to go above my fireplace. I am wanting to stagger photos (20 x 24 canvases) of my two sons with their dad and then each of them with their sons(my grandsons) on the day they were each born. Becoming a dad is an amazing thing to witness, which at times is kinda overlooked as we always focus on the mommies. I have wanted one of these for so long...so have my fingers and toes crossed. Good Luck all. Thanks for hosting this giveaway for us.
