Sisal Ball Hanging Light and Yarn Balls

Guest Blogger - The Hand Me Down House - Rope and Pumpkins

Hi everyone! I'm Amanda from The Hand Me Down House. :)

If you're curious about the name, it's all because my hubby and I bought a handed-down house from my parents ..... my childhood home. That's what my blog is ALLLL about -- making the Hand Me Down House our home.

I'm SO excited to be guest posting on one of my absolute FAVORITE blogs today! Thank you, Michelle, for allowing me the honor! :)

I'm SUCH a sucker for fall decor -- I absolutely love it! So today, I want to show you two variations of pumpkins I created for our entry table.

PUMPKIN ONE: WIRE PUMPKIN

Materials: Brown floral wire (yup! that's it!)

I first took each strand and wrapped them around the top of a glass to get a perfect circle. Then I twisted the ends together (like you would a grocery store twist-tie)

I went through and did this to every strand (around 35 - 40 wires).

Next I stacked them together and took a piece of wire to bind them all together. It should look like this:



Finally, fan out the circle wires and add a stem to the top. It should look like this in the end:

PUMPKIN TWO: ROPE PUMPKIN

Materials: 3" - 4" diameter poster tube (or any other kind of cardboard tube)
3/4" Boat Rope (or twisted multipurpose rope)

First, I cut my cardboard tube to be about 4" tall.


Next, I took my rope and started wrapping it vertically around and through the tube.


I continued doing this until the inside of the tube was completely filled with the rope.


Finally, I added a stem to the top by using the end of the rope.


What do you think??? Quick and Easy -- but still so cute! :)
