Another great week of link-ups! I can't highlight them all so here are just a few!

Bring on the glitter! Queen of Iwasagonna glammed up some 2x4 with orange glitter to make some rockstar glitter pumpkins!

Why didn't I think of this simple idea? My son will not wear any type of tie if it clips inside his shirt! Love City basically attaches a safety pin to the tie and the shirt! This would totally work with my son (and probably yours)!

I love this idea from seven thirty three - A Creative Blog for the first day of school pictures. So fun!

Just Sew Sassy created a belt of felt flowers for the fall! It's gorgeous! (It would look cute as a headband too!)

The darling Father's Day ideas are killing me! I'm especially loving the Father's Day printables. They are such an easy gift to give! Here are a few from the Father's Day Link Party.

Girly Sleeve Ties

It's hot! My daughter wants to feel cooler when she is wearing her shirts! This is a perfect solution! Trendy Treehouse created a girly shirt tie to turn those shirts with sleeves into faux sleeveless shirts! This would have been great when I was training for marathons!

Snake Tie (and My Son's Birthday)

Today is my son's 2nd birthday! I wish I would have seen this idea a week or two ago because he would have got one of these for a present!!!

Isn't this snake tie cool? What little boy wouldn't love it? I treasure great "boy" ideas!!!!!!! The Paisley Cupcake made this for her son! Check out the tutorial for this Snake Tie HERE. (This isn't too wild for church, is it?)

And since I mentioned it was my son's birthday, I should probably show a picture of him last year enjoying his cake! Such a cutie!

Guest Blogger - Just Another Day In Paradise - Washer Felt Cuff

Hi everyone. My name is Larissa and I can normally be

A washer bracelet made with hemp and beads.




Bib necklace from a t-shirt!

Little Man Tie (using velcro - not elastic - complete with tie pattern). This was actually made from a placemat!

fun take on the washer jewelry craze.

Washer Felt Cuff

You will need:

Washers
Spray paint
Diamond Glaze
t-shirt scraps
felt
snaps
coordinating thread
hot glue

First: You will need to spray paint your washer with your chosen color. It will take several coats.

Once your washer is painted and dried, you will apply this--

Slowly outline and then fill in your washer. Make sure to follow the instructions on the Diamond Glaze...allow for proper time to dry...it will take a couple of days.

With your t-shirts scraps, take a strip about 1 inch by 14 and roll into a flower...
here is a tutorial I recently did for this technique.

Now that you have a rolled t-shirt flower, hot glue it onto the center of your washer.

To make the cuff, measure the length you need to go around your wrist. Cut two strips out of felt measuring that length by the width of 1 1/2".

Pin the two pieces together and sew around the outside edge. Then "quilt" it by sewing every 1/4". It will look like this--

To attach the snap, figure out where the closure will need to be.

Mark that spot. Make a small slit with an exacto knife for the snap pieces to go into, and then follow snap instructions.

Once the snap is in place, hot glue your washer onto the felt cuff.

Now you have a great and original piece of cuff jewelry. So easy to make and so cute.

What Can You Do With Ties? (Updated)

What can you do with ties? These are some ideas I found.
Create a unique lampshade with colorful ties. (Actually, you would do one with drab or monochromatic ties too!) This great ideas was done by A Very Blessed Nest. Click HERE.


Who would have thought to make a funky, interesting wreath out of ties? Not me, but I definitely like the look of this wreath. Even though this was made for Christmas, you could change the colors for any holiday or decor. Found HERE at the Michael's Christmas contest. If you missed this post, you missed out. Make a purse using your husband's old neck ties. HERE is the tutorial at Craftster.

How do you like making "feathers" from neckties? I could see a few different uses for these.
