Last year, I started giving my husband this Father's Day gift! He loved it. I bought the big letters "D" and "A" at Hobby Lobby for $2 a piece! The three picture frame at Family Dollar. When I developed the photos, I printed them in black and white so it didn't matter what colors they wore!
I haven't taken the pictures for this year yet, but I wanted to give you all time to hurry and do this idea too! (I should have taken a picture without the flash so you could see my daughter in the second picture. ) I assisted 4 other friends in doing this for their husbands too! It's so easy and just so cute!!! My husband has it on his shelf at work. When I take the pictures for this year, I will just put them in front of these ones.

It will be fun to see how the kids change over the years.

That is just too cute. Almost makes me wish I still had little ones. I just don't think it would be the same with 23-26 year olds. But if I ever have grands, I am soooo borrowing this idea. I'll give it back when I'm done. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteMy dad was the kind who would have shown this off at his job, altho I was child #4. Maybe we would have had to do Papa.

ReplyDeleteAww, so cute! I love this idea. I also love that you only bought 1 'D'- it's all you need, but I probably wouldn't have realized it and bought 2. Also, that tip about developing in black in white so you don't have to worry about their clothes? Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBasically, you rock.
Thank you for participating in the Creative Therapy Session at Life in the Pitts
Here is what we did... I'm still working on getting the three individual pictures in just the right frame, but the group picture turned out good.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute idea! {and your kiddies are adorable!} These make wonderful gifts - fantastic! Thanks for joining the Sunday Showcase. I greatly appreciate it. Hope you are enjoying your week! ~ Stephanie Lynn
ReplyDeleteI love this. Last Christmas, I did something similar for my parents and in-laws. I took pictures of each of the grandkids holding a letter from the grandparents' last name. They were a hit! And, every year, we'll take new pictures so they always have updated photos of their grandkids.
ReplyDeleteI also made one for us, and my sis-in-laws have all requested that I do the same for them. I, too, found my letters at Hobby Lobby, and I found our frames at Gordman's (I needed one with 6 spaces, and 2 with 7) for really decent prices!
This is just what I was looking for. . .something unique, meaningful and inexpensive. I ♥ it!! 5 ♥ status. Thanks for sharing. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your idea. I just got an idea based from your work, I have pictures of my dad when he was a kid maybe I'll use that and put it in a picture frame and make some designs. It's gonna be a perfect gift for fathers day.
