2x4 Stocking Hangers

My stockings are hung from my mantle with a push pin in the wood! (NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!) I love this simple idea for stocking hangers made from 2x4's. They are cute and easy! These ones that look like presents are from Sugar Bee.

The original 2x4 stocking holders came from Crap I've Made. They have a monogrammed letter! I love both ideas!

I would recommend using these only when the stockings are empty! I doubt they are heavy enough to hold filled stockings.

  2. This idea is awesome! Some of the ones that hook around don't work with where we hang our stockings because it's too wide. I might have to make these!!

  3. Are they heavy enough to hold the stockings once the goodies are in them? They are really cute, but I worry that they would fall off the shelf/mantle when the stockings are filled.

  6. You're right - only for hanging empty stockings. When santa comes at our house he sets stockings on the couch surrounded by goodies, so it works for us! Thanks for the feature!

  7. Thank you for this post! I had this idea and could not quite express it to my husband. So now that I was able to show him, he understands. YAY!

  8. Actually, if you glue a rubber piece on the bottoms of these, they will hold the stockings after they are filled. A really cute idea.

  9. Thanks, Michelle!

A trick we use to keep my toddler from pulling them down is to put a strip of Command adhesive under them. That would probably hold them filled, too!

  10. Oh and don't forget about 3M Command Strips. You could totally stick those babies to your mantel and release the strip after Christmas. They would hold full stockings then!
