I recently bought a mid-sleeper bed for my 6 year old (this one to be exact: http://www.childrensfunkyfurniture.com/blog/bbc-the-one-show-beds/) and like the above design, it is a great way to obtain additional storage space without taking up too much extra room or spending money on extra furniture items!
