Home Improvement Store Projects

If you haven't tuned into So You Think You Can Decorate? yet, you are missing out. Here are two of the projects using items from a home improvement store. Miss Mustard Seed's guest room was another one of these projects.
The surrounding of this mirror was made using cavity cap (used when pouring cement). Flea Market Trixie shows how she made it at her blog. Go HERE. Isn't this stunning? This wood gate screen is amazing by Funky Junk Interiors. This looks great in front of a big window or as a room divider. See how it was made by going HERE.

Split Pea Wreath

Make an inexpensive wreath using split peas! This would be great for St. Patty's, Easter, Spring, even Christmas. Just change out the embellishment depending on the holiday! (or you could spray paint it for a different color!) See how it was made at 1 Talented Family! Go HERE.

Spring Petal Skirt

Faux Candles

With all these amazing candlestick ideas, we should know how to make faux melted candles to go in them (or to sit in the hot sun without melting). See this cool trick and what these faux candles are made from at Artsy Fartsy. Go HERE.

Link Party Still Going On!!! Check Them Out!!!

While I was searching this crazy place we call Blogland, I found a couple more great candlesticks!!

These are just going to look great any where!! I wish I could find some so that I could be cool like Miss Mustard Seed. I just love the look of these, so big!! Check out the inspiration on the left and the creation on the right...I think I like the ones on the right much better!! Check these out HERE!!

I could not resist these over at Dollar Store Crafts, they use paraffin wax and a balloon to make this awesome decoration!! All of this done at the Dollar Store for under $5!! Make sure you check out their suggestions also, they recommend using electric tealights instead of regular candles since this is just wax and could possibly melt. There were some other awesome candle ideas there so be sure to browse around for a while after you look at this project HERE!!

Candlestick Categorically Crafting Show

<center><a href="http://somedaycrafts.blogspot.com"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_yA_6K7ea4aE/S7P2ck_BACI/AAAAAAAABy0/B-VCpUbLYmE/s320/Categorically_Crafting.jpg"/></center></div>
I keep seeing all these fabulous groupings of candlesticks on people's blogs. They are all beautiful and look fantastic as decor. And they all seem to come from....thrift stores. So in preparation for this Candlestick Show, I went thrift store shopping several times to find ugly candlesticks that I can makeover. NO SUCH LUCK!!!! Either I can't "see" the candlesticks or they aren't in the two thrift stores where I live!!!! I will just have to go on having candlestick envy!!! (I tell ya, blogging is hazardous to my health. It creates strong, almost envious emotions of wanting things that other people have. It could also be called coveting. I am in BIG TROUBLE.)

Let's see a few beauties I have found!!! These candlesticks are lovely now, but you must see the "before" picture! Very....interesting and patriotic. See them at 1 Talented Family. Go HERE.

My Repurposed Life always has stellar transformations. She is the queen of repurposing older things into beautiful works of art. See how she made this lamp into a very cool (and tall) candlestick! Go HERE.

Stunning!!! That's all I can say about this display of candlesticks!!! It wasn't like this before. See this makeover at Organize and Decorate Everything! Go HERE.

If you are looking for something tall (to fit in a corner or next to a fireplace or wherever), then you should see these tall DIY candlesticks at How To Be Awesome. (These could also be made shorter.) Go HERE. You can also see some similar chunky candlesticks at Life as Lori. Go HERE.I definitely can't have a candlestick round up without including some that are blue/turquiose! These are hot (or maybe I should say cool.) Love the color. Find the before pictures at Ramblings From the Sunshine State. Go HERE.

Please join your crafty post if, and only if, it corresponds with the category and theme of CANDLESTICKS!!! (If it doesn't fit in this category, please link it up to Whatever Goes Wednesday.) Link up crafts, decor, sewing projects, food, tips, etc, that has to do with CANDLESTICKS! If you have a lot of CANDLESTICK projects, please choose your favorites. (Please no more than 4 posts per blog). Link to the specific posts, not to your main blog page. I'm excited to see all the stunning candlestick ideas out there.

You can paste the "Categorically Crafting" button onto your blog post. I would love to see these floating around so more people can post their themed projects. I will leave this linky post open until next CC Show. Keep checking back for more ideas!!!
The next 3 Categorically Crafting Shows are as follows:

April 25 - Food/Formula Cans

May 1 - Toilet Paper Roll Crafts (Save those rolls and make something fun!!!)
May 8 - Twine

Jealousy Has Officially Set In!!!!

Here are a few more links from today's party and they are invoking a little bit of jealousy in me!!!! I really shouldn't do parties like this anymore. There are still more links being added so don't forget to visit a few more!!! If you have a country themed room or house or live on a farm, this dresser is the bomb! Don't you just love these "knob pulls?" A rope! It doesn't get much more country than that! See this at Cinnaberry Suite. Go HERE.
I've always wanted an outdoor room. I don't know if I will ever get one, but this post from Tracy's Trinkets and Treasures is a great place to start. Almost makes me envious! GO HERE.

While this may not be quite as amazing as the PB and Restoration Hardware pieces, this knock-off is $100-$200 less expensive! That inspires amazement! See how it was made at Nikki's Nifty Knacks. Go HERE.

I don't know what is more impressive the photo frame wall (that goes up a staircase and down a hallway) or the beautiful molding and entryway. Whatever it is, I'm jealous!!!! See this at Sawdust and Paper Scraps (this week's "Blog to Watch.") Go HERE.
