Beadboard Candy Corn

Beadboard makes everything cuter - especially these candy corns. When I imagined beadboard candy corn, I thought about the stripes going horizontally. Chapman Place made these vertical lines look great!

Coffee Filter Flowers and Paper Bead Bracelet

Don't you love the look of fluffy white flowers? Well, these were made out of coffee filters. These would last a long time on a mantle, table or shelf (and are inexpensive compared to live flowers). Homework: Be Inspired created these from her old coffee filters.

Homework: Be Inspired also made these beautiful beads from old magazines and paper. A great upcycling idea to save you money.

See the paper bead bracelet tutorial.

Bias Tape Tote

Make a tote using bias tape with Obsessive Crafting Disorder (OCD). This is so cute. I would love a few of these to carry light groceries in!

Video Tutorials

Crafty Gemini has two video tutorials for the "cheater's version of needle turn appliques" and how-to do a Raw edge/Fusible applique. Sometimes I "get it" more quickly if I watch someone do a technique than if I read about it.
Check out the video tutorials HERE.

I'm Back!

Hi! I'm back online! I finished the post that I started last night when our internet crashed!
.
Welcome to the Toy room/Play room Categorically Crafting Show where you can show off the projects, ideas, traditions and tips you use for creating your toy rooms. Dig through your archives or link a recent post. Share your play rooms with us. Here are a few that I've found floating out there!

Daily Decorator has a variety of playrooms to view. This link is full of playroom eye candy. See dream playrooms HERE.

Under The Table and Dreaming makes me jealous of her little guy's play room. Look at those shelves (and that is only part of the room.) To be jealous with me, see the rest of this amazing play room HERE.

Her son has autism and she is in the process of creating an indoor sensory playroom. HERE is the beginning of it. If you have a child in the autism spectrum or has a sensory disorder, stay tuned to Under The Table and Dreaming.

Tip Junkie created a round-up on playrooms.

There are some really fun playroom ideas HERE.

I Am Momma, Hear Me Roar

has a playroom from heaven! What little kid wouldn't love all that she has done to this amazing space. So much to see!

Design Sponge has a ton of pictures of playrooms that you must look at if you are wanting to improve a current playroom or create a new one!

See a TON of ideas HERE.

Maybe you are like me and can't have a dream playroom like those above. Kensington Cottage created a playroom in a smaller unused attic space and the kids love it! Do you have an area like this that you can make a playroom?

Please join your crafty post if, and only if, it corresponds with the category and theme of Lamps. (If it doesn't fit in this category, please link it up to Whatever Goes Wednesday.) Link up crafts, decor, sewing projects, food, tips, etc, that has to do with Playroom. If you have joined a playroom project to a party on my blog before, feel free to add it to this show too! If you have a lot of mirror projects, please choose your favorites. (Please no more than 4 posts per blog). Link to the specific posts, not to your main blog page.
Let's see what you have created (either recently or in the past)!

You can paste the "Categorically Crafting" button onto your blog post. I would love to see these floating around so more people can post their themed projects. I will leave this linky post open until next CC Show. Keep checking back for more ideas!!!
The next 3 Categorically Crafting Shows are as follows:

September 10 - Boys

September 17 - Dollar Store Crafts

(If you haven't gone back to see last week's lamp show, you must see the rest of the ideas linked up throughout the week. They rock! See them HERE.)

Spiderweb Doily

Although I am sad to see summer closing, I'm so glad that September is here. (It snowed on the mountaintops in my valley in Utah last week!) There are already such fun Halloween and fall decorations out there and I promised myself I wouldn't highlight them until September.
Look for many fall and Halloween ideas for the next two months!

Lipstick and Laundry made these fun spiderwebs out of doilies! I think this is the cutest and easiest spiderweb I have ever seen.

Flip Flop Transformation (and Win $100)

I'm wishing it was the beginning of summer (not the end) because I would make some of these stylish flip flops. How comfortable would these be without the scratchy plastic in between the toes? The Mother Huddle shows you how to transform a pair of cheap flip flops into beach beauties.
Additionally, Destri is hosting a "Rock The Flop" linky contest where you can link up your current or past flip flop projects and the winner will win a $100 gift card to Robert's Arts and Crafts!!!! She's asked me to be the judge!!! YIKES. I wet my pants with nervousness just a little when she asked me to be the judge! HERE is the link to the linky!
(If I weren't the judge, I'd be making some fantastic flip flops in the next couple of weeks so I could win $100 dollars!)

Link up Spotlights!

Oh, there are so many fantastic links from today's party. Here are a few I liked to get you started!
Fly Chicks drew this stunning headboard with chalk on a chalkboard wall. When she gets bored with this one, she can easily (and inexpensively) change it. Fun idea!

Holly Do beautified this dresser by painting a lovely turquoise and adding tree branches for the handles. How cool is that?

A Little of This, A Little of That made this darling apron from a hand towel (and a little bit of fabric). I want one.
See how to make this hand towel apron.

What Happens At Naptime shares this nifty little tip to keep you bra straps from showing when you were a tank top! Very nice idea!
See the Tank Top Bra Catcher.

Whimsy Couture (and Giveaway)

I'm excited to announce a new sponsor to this blog. Welcome Whimsy Couture. If you love the look of boutique style clothing, you will love the patterns that Whimsy Couture has available for you. I love getting patterns because I can choose the fabric I want to use and personalize it in the perfect size!
All Whimsy Couture patterns are e-books and will be conveniently emailed to you. They are easy to follow and come with a wide range of sizes! The style is vintage inspired and comfy.

These are just a few of the pattern/e-books that I am wanting to have possession of!!!!

If I had a baby girl, she'd be wearing this strappy top/dress! So cute!!!

I'm loving this apron twirl skirt. Is that not so cute? Makes me want to run through the hills.

Most of the shirt/top patterns can also be lengthened into a dress. This darling pattern is called the ruffled neckline top and dress.

To go with those ruffly tops, you need a ruffled pants pattern. Whimsy Couture has them!

And to go under all those stylish dresses, you can find 3 styles of bloomers. This is the easy bloomers and diaper cover pattern.

There are more patterns in Whimsy Couture's Etsy shop. And they have a deal where you can buy 3, 6 or 12 patterns for a reduced price!

Lucky for you, Whimsy Couture has an exclusive special for you. Buy 2 pattern, get 2 FREE. Free ones must be of equal or lesser value than the two purchased ones. All you have to do is simply put code B2G2 into checkout and mention the free patterns.

And even luckier for you, Whimsy Couture is having a giveaway. THREE of you will each get to choose one pattern each from the Whimsy Couture shop!

Ways to enter (Leave a comment for each entry)

1. Visit Whimsy Couture and write which pattern you want most.
2. Blog, Tweet or Facebook about giveaway.

Winner will be announced next Tuesday.
